The Sack gabion is assembled by rolling the mesh panel into a cylindricalshapeandlacingtheoverlappededges.Once the one end of the cylinder is tied and laced closed, the Sack gabionisfilledwithrockrangingbetween100mmand200mmor anyothermaterialofsuitablesize.Therangeinsizesmayallowfor avariationof5%oversizeand/or5%undersizerock,provideditis notplacedattheexposedsurface.Inallcases,oversizerockshall not be larger than 300 mm and the undersize rock shall not be smaller than 100 mm. Rocksshall be hard, angular to round, durable and of such quality that they shall not disintegrate on exposure to water or weathering during the life of the structure. Care should be taken when placing the stone to ensure that the PVCcoatingontheSack gabionisnotdamaged. Oncefilledthe opposite end is tied and laced closed before installation.
